An online sprite packer for frame folders
An online sprite packer turns separate PNG, WebP or JPG frames into one transparent sprite sheet you can drop into a game or animation tool. SpriteFuse keeps your list order for Grid, Horizontal and Vertical layouts, then lets you download a PNG plus optional JSON coordinates. Files stay in your browser. There is no account gate for packing or export.
Use this sprite packer when you already have frames and need a stable atlas. If you still need to generate artwork, start with the sprite sheet generator. If your frames live in a GIF, use GIF to sprite sheet first.
How to pack a sprite sheet online
- 01
Choose your images
Drop, paste or choose PNG, WebP or JPG frames. You can mix formats in one batch. Limits match the live image packer: up to 100 frames, 10 MB each and 50 MB total.
- 02
Set layout and spacing
Pick Grid, Horizontal or Vertical. Adjust columns on Grid, then outer padding and gap. Smaller images stay original size and sit centered in cells sized to the largest frame. Nothing is trimmed or rotated by default.
- 03
Preview, play, download
Check the Sheet preview, then open Animation to play source frames in list order. Download PNG for the texture and JSON for names and pixel rectangles when your next tool needs coordinates.
Grid, strip or column — order stays yours
Compact packing that reorders frames for density is out of this first version on purpose. A sprite packer for animation and readable sheets should preserve the same sequence you see in the Frames list.
Grid fills left to right, then the next row. Horizontal places every frame in one row. Vertical stacks one column. Outer padding adds a transparent border around the sheet. Gap separates neighboring cells without changing the artwork.
Animation plays the source list
The Animation tab plays the uploaded frames in list order, not packed rectangles. Use previous, play or pause, next, loop, FPS (default 12) and 0.5× / 1× / 2× speed. Optional per-frame hold milliseconds override the global FPS when you need a held pose.
Sprite packer FAQ
Is the online sprite packer free?
Yes. Packing, preview, Animation playback and PNG/JSON downloads are free. No sign-up is required. Selected files are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to SpriteFuse for this tool.
Does packing change my pixels?
No silent trim, rotate or scale. Each cell uses the widest and tallest dimensions in the batch. Smaller images stay original size and are centered. Transparent pixels stay transparent. JPG opaque backgrounds stay opaque.
What does the JSON include?
A versioned generic coordinate sheet: sheet size, columns, rows, padding, gap, frame names and x/y/w/h cell rectangles plus content rectangles for centered originals. It is not an engine-specific Phaser, Unity, Godot or GameMaker importer in this version.
How is this different from Image to sprite sheet?
Both share the same packing core. This Online Sprite Packer page is the packer-keyword tool-first chrome with Sheet and Animation tabs. Image to sprite sheet keeps the converter-style layout for visitors who search that task.
